Learn Tagalog Fast Overview

A mobile application to help you get started on over 50+ beginner learning guides that will teach you everyday Tagalog or Taglish language and you can use right away, from basic greetings to conversational tagalog.

Our optimistic North Star:

In 2 years, LTF will have a community of learners that can connect and learn from each other

Here's our

SPRINT QUESTIONS

  • Can we motivate users to keep using our app after they've learned the basics of Tagalog?
  • Can we give the user confidence to try the app by providing social proof?
  • Can we design an effective system for students to learn and connect with each other?

“As a foreigner working in the Philippines, I need to learn Tagalog so that I can easily communicate my ideas and interact with my colleagues.”

With that this is our

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

  • To design a landing page that will drive conversions to the mobile application
  • To feature LTF’s communication-first approach in
    learning fast

TO UNDERSTAND OUR USERS, WE CONDUCTED

User Interviews

We reached out to a few foreign participants who consider themselves language learners

And we came up with these user personas

Based on the interviews we found out that there's a common ground between these personas:

"I like making friends and talking to people who fluently speak the language"

this helped us come up with the mid-fidelity prototype

Mid-Fidelity Prototype

From the current website, we came up with the mid-fidelity prototype for us to visualize the idea and structure that we came up with based on the available resources and the user insights.

Here are some snapshots:

We tested our mid-fi prototype with the users and these are the

KEY INSIGHTS

The user wants:
A website that immediately presents its value in a way that is simple and easy to understand to gain their trust and confidence.

What we did:
Each section delivers a clear message. As the user scrolls down, we emphasize Learn Tagalog Fast’s conversation-first approach to learning, how LTF makes this happen mainly through the app, and student stories that validate its effectiveness.

The user wants:
Website should have eye-catching elements and needs to be appealing to pull visitors in.

What we did:
We included a fun mix of content such as videos, product previews, and illustrations to catch the users’ attention

The user wants:
Users have different ways of learning the language that Learn Tagalog Fast can adapt to.

What we did:
We created separate sections highlighting the app for casual learners, the community feature for conversational learners, and the e-book for learners who prefer learning in a more structured and comprehensive manner.

After ideating and gathering all input we came up with our final

UI Design & Prototype

Based on the results of our usability testing, the team came up with our High Fidelity prototype
